Next Airline Ban - Lithium Batteries in Checked Luggage!
Alert!!!
I ran across this at Slashdot today:
If you will be flying anytime soon and you take extra batteries with you - check it out before you go.
I ran across this at Slashdot today:
"The U.S. Transportation and Security Administration has issued new rules limiting travel with lithium batteries. As of January 1, no spare lithium batteries are allowed in checked luggage. Batteries carried in the cabin are subject to limitations on per-battery and total lithium content, and spare batteries must have the terminals covered. If you're returning home from the holidays with new toys, be sure to check out the new restrictions before you pack."

An Extraordinary Role Model
I'm pretty sure everyone has heard about the church shootings in Colorado a few days ago. Uncle Jimbo has the story about the woman who saved many many lives.
From the Denver Post:
People are always looking for role models. Someone they want their children to emulate. Well, here she is. A very brave woman who knew what had to be done and did it.
I hope if I'm ever confronted by such a situation, I can respond half as well as she did. Thank you Jeanne Assam.
From the Denver Post:
Larry Bourbonnais, a combat-tested Vietnam veteran, said it was the bravest thing he’s ever seen.Bourbonnais, who was among those shot by a gunman Sunday at New Life Church, watched as a security guard, a woman later identified as Jeanne Assam, calmly returned fire and killed the shooter.
(note: the Denver Post link has a video of her press conference)
Thanks again from a fellow sheepdog,a wolf is dead and the flock may offer their own thanks for their safety and that metaphor could hardly be more apt.
