I know all the arguments about "I can't vote for..." this or that person so I'm staying home. I have two words to say:
GROW UP!
Who told you life is perfect and your choices would be too? That is a fairytale for babies.
It's time for adults to make a decision. There is rarely a perfect answer to anything in life. You choose the answer, in this case the candidate, that most closely matches what you want to happen.
Period.
Will that person be the "absolute right choice"? No one knows that ahead of time. The ONLY thing that guarantees you've chosen the best person is the test of time. None of the candidates has ever held this office, so we have no one who has withstood the test.
I've noticed this scares so very many people. To the point they can't act.
If you can't make a decision - then you forfeit the right to make any decision about your future. You've just said you'll leave it up to everyone else. You become the deer in the headlights watching the oncoming truck and not even bothering to get the hell out of the way. I have no sympathy when it runs you over.
I don't do deer in the headlights - I act. I might be wrong or I might be right. Only time will tell. I know this is the strongest country in the world. If we make a mistake - we can hold and regroup. If we do nothing we fail.
VOTE.

Well said. If I might add, I occassionally find I have no reason to vote for somebody but I do have reasons to not vote for the person(s) they are running against which I interpret to mean that I ought to then vote for the person who doesn't have those qualities/ideas.
But whatever your reason, get out and vote!

Oh, I made a decision. I decided that all the candidates still in the running are a waste of space and aren't worth voting for. Not a one of them. I voted, it's my right and i'll do it every time, but that doesn't necessarily feel I need to vote for the complete wastes of space that the parties put forward.
Sometimes you need to use your vote to send a message, and that's what I try to do.

Rich - thanks
Contagion - if you voted, you let your voice be heard. Whatever the vote - that's what counts.

I almost did this myself.

Yes, there were things that bug me about all of them. Some of them were better than others, but they all had issues that rubbed me the wrong way. Yet I never ever stayed home. Ever.
