Sticks Be Gone
Tomorrow there will be pictures. Tonight I'm too tired to deal with it. Besides, I never got a final pic.
The yard guys were back with the woodchipper today. (technically it was yard guys and a gal today as the guy who owns the business had his daughter along to help work) I timed things just right. I was headed out the driveway to Starbucks when they showed up. This was excellent because once they started, there was no getting in or out of the driveway. Which meant my car sat down by the street most of the day. All I hoped was that no one would hit it. They didn't. I breathed a sigh of relief when I could bring it up the hill.
So, I left as they arrived whereupon the woodchipper promptly broke a bolt. A very necessary bolt. One that ensured the machine would not work. It took them a couple of hours and a trip to the hardware store to get the thing going again. Ah, machine fun and games.
Once they started, they worked steadily the rest of the day... and it took all day. They filled the truck 3 times with woodchips. He originally said it could be done in 2 truckloads, at which point I laughed and told him I knew it would take at least 3. He had to admit I right.
The yard is now free of most of the branches. There are still a few huge limbs that were too large for the chipper, but he'll get those moved next time. I expect I'll see him tomorrow though... they were so beat by the end of the day (finishing up near 7pm) that they left a tool box, a rake, and shovel. I have a feeling they'll need those things. Then they'll remember where they left the stuff. Then someone will get yelled at because they have to drive all the way back out here to pick it up.
