"Nearly twice as many children die from congenital heart disease in the United States each year as die from all forms of childhood cancers combined"
So, the next time there is a fund raising drive... remember to include the American Heart Association in your donations. If caught early, many if not most heart problems have an excellent chance of being successfully treated.

High Fiber Diet May Not Reduce Cancer Risk
For many years, Americans have heard that eating a diet high in fiber reduces the risk of colon cancer, but that's not the case, according to a new, large analysis.
And
Medical News: Tea, Vitamin D, Brain Boost
According to research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, Swedish women who drank two or more cups of black tea per day lowered their risk of ovarian cancer by 46 percent compared with non-tea drinkers.
Now... after reading the first story - please tell me why I'm supposed to believe the second story. BTW - I love tea, I drink tea, I have nothing against tea. For that matter I have nothing against fiber.
Once again - supposed researchers are confusing correlation with causation. The amazing thing is how long it takes to debunk the myth once it's established. For years now they've been touting the high fiber diet as the prime colon cancer fighter... yes, fiber is good for you in your diet for other reasons...but the cancer research community is just so amusing with all these gyrations over the years. Hey guys - why don't you just say "We have no friggin' clue what causes cancer... we're still trying to figure it out!" I would have far more respect for that than this constant back and forth over what "might" cause or prevent cancer.
Oh and one more thing...
There are other proven benefits of a diet high in fiber. It reduces the risks of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, constipation, high cholesterol and it may help fight obesity by making you feel fuller, Johnson said.
Now the "proven" benefits may possibly be true... on the other hand, they've been saying for years that the prevention of cancer is a "proven" benefit of fiber.... so now that they've changed they're collective little minds on this one - why should we believe the others... who's to say the other studies were done and reported correctly!
The only reason I bring this up is because of the damage that these medical researchers do when their findings are proven incorrect... or when things are good one year, bad the next, then good again.
When you cry wolf too often, eventually no one listens to you anymore.
