Congratulations MaryAnn!

MaryAnn Phillips, a Soldier's Angel was awarded one of the highest civilian honors this week.

Soldiers' Angel Receives Presidential Citizens Medal

As a volunteer, Ms. Phillips regularly spends hours at the bedside of wounded or dying soldiers, distributes gifts of support to patients and medical personnel, coordinates donations, and leads a staff of local German and American volunteers.  She also spends dozens of hours at home each week, completing paperwork and reassuring stateside families of patients she has met at LRMC.

I have met MaryAnn.  She is more than deserving of this honor.  There are no words sufficient to tell people how much she does for our wounded soldiers and their families.  I'm still trying to figure out when she sleeps... We are so lucky the world has people like her.

3 Wow - God bless her, indeed. I was just thinking this week that it's time to adopt another soldier. What she does beyond that is incredible.
