New Reading Material

I got a kindle! It came today.

When Amazon dropped the price and went to a wi-fi version I decided to finally buy one.

So far it's looking good. It charged quickly. I've downloaded some free books (PG Wodehouse anyone...) and a few others I had to pay for. A review shall be forthcoming once I get a chance to use it for a while.

It's very exciting.

1 My daughters gave me one for Father's Day, and after a few days' use, I decided I don't really want to go back to paper books unless I must.

I also am taking full advantage of the many 99-cent anthologies from Amazon. But my overloaded bookshelves are thanking me already.

2 I have a friend with one and she has a h ard time putting it down at night. Makes going to work in the morning tough. I can't wait to hear your opinion of it!

Sorry, that's what I always do when confronted with Wodehouse.

Oldest Daughter d/l the kindle app to her Blackberry and uses that. Loves it! I'm of the old school... I just love books; the feel of them, the smell... doubt I could change.

6 Thanks all. So far so good. All I have on it are things I've already read that are favorites of mine - it's a test. I do like to reread and if it doesn't drive me nutso reading a favorite, I should be able to read anything on it.

I tried the kindle app on my ipod touch - the screen is way too small - made me antsy to read more than a few minutes.

Cin - thanks so much for the links! Glad to know I don't need to use the SYM key just to get numbers!!!

8 I haven't got an iPad yet. I'm waiting for at least the 2nd gen so they get more bugs worked out... but damn it's tempting!!! After all, you can take it on a plane without unloading it from your bag - that is very cool indeed. Now if Steve will just hurry up with the newer models. LOL.
