Ah Ed - I checked out your site because your comment - such as it is - makes no sense. Whose rationale is terrible? Mine? Patrick's? It would be nice if you added a few more words when leaving a comment to let people have some idea of your stance supporting Patrick. But I guess that's a one way to try and drive traffic to your site.
Well according to your blog, it's my rationale that is wrong because I have issues with a man who has decided that support of convicted murderers and felons is more important than support of law abiding citizens. I'm wrong because I take the lesson learned while living in another state to more closely scrutinize a gubernatorial candidate before voting?
I don't think he's going to suddenly put every convicted killer out on the street, I do question his judgement in defending these particular people. And that calls into question his ability to govern.
Also, with his office comes the ability to pardon criminals. Does this mean if an especially literate criminal is able to get his ear - that man will be out on the street again, even if he did commit the crimes for which he was sentenced? And why is it a bad thing that people are concerned about this? After all, if it is the purview of the governor, shouldn't we have an idea of what he might do once he gets into office?
Oh and let's not forget other things that people bring to the governor when looking for favors. Does this mean anyone with a black racist agenda will be able to get the governor to help him or her? Throw some money their way because they can talk a good game? And how will that effect the rest of us who live in the state?
The Massachusetts government is bad enough as it is - full of graft and corruption (just look at the Big Dig and all its load of garbage and wasted money). I don't see Patrick with an agenda that improves any of this and some of his stances such as increasing taxes, giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens, etc... can make things considerably worse.
