Round and Round and Round She Goes

Which direction does she turn for you?

My thoughts below the fold - so I don't spoil it for anyone else who wants to have some fun.

Hat Tip: Ocean Guy  and Sol

BTW: does anyone else notice... when she spins clockwise, her right leg is extended, when she spins counter clockwise her left leg is extended... even more odd!

I can make her go in either direction.

If I look off to the left, I can make her turn counter clockwise. If I then look directly at the screen with both eyes, she stops.  If I cover one eye, she'll start spinning counter clockwise again.

If I look off to the right, she'll spin clockwise, with the same results as above. When I look with both eyes she stops if I cover one eye she spins clockwise.

It took a bit of playing - at first I could only see the clockwise spin.  Cute optical illusion, but I don't really see how it tells me anything about the way my brain works or doesn't work. heh.

1 Are you left or right-handed? Like you, I first saw it clockwise, but I changed her direction by looking at her planted foot. After a few seconds, I could pretty much "change her direction" at will.

2 I thought this was a trick the first time I saw it...  It always spins clockwise for me, no matter what I do, which eye I use or how I look.... and it never, ever stops!  How did you do that?  Wow...

3 I'm definitely right handed.  I was wondering if it has anything to do with the "dominant eye"... it would be interesting to know how the illusion works. *grin*

4 Pam - I did it by looking off to one side with both eyes open and then "watching from the corner of my eye" so to speak. When I look to the left she starts to spin left.  LOL.

5 When I first opened the link, she was spinning right like a maniac. After I read the comments and tried looking off to the left I finally got her to spin to the left but I could tell she didn't like it. She wants to go to the right. Oh, and really, who can blame her?

6 Yes, I think she just doesn't like being a lefty at all...

7 First thought...why a nekkid woman?

Second thought:  I couldn't make her go 'clockwise'.  Maybe because I was brought up it was rude to stare at people doing unusual things...like spinning around nekkid.

8 Counter-clockwise only -- you are making up the whole clockwise thing just to make me crazy.

9 Counter clockwise for me too only.  I kept focusing and couldn't figure out how in the hell to make her go the other way.  doesn't happen for me...

Ok, that clockwise stuff is a bunch of crap.  I have now stared at it for way too long, did all the stuff y'all said and even did the whole 'cover up 2/3s of her body thing' and she STILL goes counter clockwise and doesn't change direction.

I'm thoroughly frustrated now that I'm not seeing what any of you are seeing. I'm with Rammer.  I think y'all are tryin' to make me nuts.

11 ... she started out clockwise for me.... but once I started reading the stuff, she switched directions..... it was quite distracting......

12 Always starts out clockwise, but you can see her going both ways. She's definitely bi.

And I was getting a kick out of the fact that they went to such great detail... I could see her nipples!

13 I am the same it seems...

started clockwise, and then I could switch back and forth....

14 This is even a question? She's spinning anti-clockwise, fo' sho'...and I concur with T1G....it must be a mite chilly in her little spinning vortex world.

15 I was able to get her to spin both ways at will.  But it was distracting.

16 Counter clockwise regardless of what I do...  Gah...

Anit-clockwise i don't think I have ever heard of that before.

Hmmmm. She spins (spun?) clockwise for me. Tried staring at her for a while (got interesting look from wife) but no change. Then moved my mouse over the picture and voila! She now spins counter-clockwise.

but now I can't get her to change. Does that mean I'm defective?

19 Strongly counterclockwise for me. Unless I stand on my head (invert the image), then it's clockwise. If I cover the image and then gradually reveal it from the top down, I can make her spin clockwise, provided I "tell myself" that's the way she's spinning. But once the entire image is visible, no more than two turns and it's counterclockwise again. [Hey Pixy - Preview ate this comment twice. Let's try Post without preview.]

20 Agreeing with T1G - whichever way she's spinning, she's doing it in a chilly room.
