Spam Storm
I guess that's why we were down today. Not that I've had time to read many blogs for the last several weeks. (this is really getting old)
Hopefully things will ease up next week. In the meantime, I have to make a huge decision within the next few days.
Stick with the woman who has been my hair dresser for about a year and a half and drive farther to her new location (she switched salons) or go back to the salon I have been using and switch to a new hair dresser.
As I already have to allow a half hour to get to the current place - I'm not wild about tacking on even more time and nearly 10 more miles one way. Currently a hair appointment means I've lost 2 hours from my day - that's a lot of time every 4 weeks.
I like her very much, but if the drive will be 15 minutes longer each way, that means 2.5 hours every 4 weeks. Yes, I consider these things. I also consider that my hair style is not the most challenging thing to ever present itself to a hair dresser so I don't see why one of the other ladies in the same place shouldn't be able to do my hair.
Still, it's difficult giving up a hair dresser and I need to consider it for another day longer I think.

Now if your old stylist also acted as confidant and psychologists...it might be worth the extra time and gasoline to go to her new location. If she was merely a set of hands to work your hair...not so much.

I would drive to the ends of the earth to go to my hair dresser.
Been going to her for 18 years now, she is irreplaceable.

It is funny that you blog about this today. I have recently changed hairdressers. I made the change because I had been going to her for so long she was unwilling (or unable) to makes changes. My hair is very thick and I don't have many choices but I do like dramatic changes every now and then. She just couldn't give me the change I needed. Now I am going really generic and cannot wait to find a new stylists.
