Congratulations Boston Red Sox!
What's it been 86 years? Well done! Y'all should have a talk with the Chicago Cubs about curses and such.
Too bad St. Louis didn't play better baseball. It would've been nice to see a World Series that was at least exciting... That is not to take away from the way Boston played mind you - but a bit of competition for them would have definitely livened things up.
So, will they be able to do it again next year???

No one can better understand your feelings about losing a World Series than a RedSox fan.
Interesting that references to 'The Curse' only began after the 1986 World Series. (source:

And not only did they win the World Series, they did it in a way that trounced any nay-sayers: beat the Yankees, in Yankee stadium. I particularly appreciated that the series ended with a little lob to first base, which was fielded successfully!
Next season's RedSox opening game, when they will raise the WS Champion banner, is against...the Yankees. How sweet it is. (I've only heard this verbally, I couldn't confirm it yet.)
Also, Boston has extended the 'typical' parade route for the RedSox parade because they are expecting so many people.
Finally, if the RedSox had lost, would folks've blamed the curse, or George Bush?

Well, considering how many World Series titles the Cardinals have won over the years - I won't begrudge Boston their fun. *grin*
But I will say that it is all W's fault that the Cardinals lost!!! Oh yes, it's a Rovian strategy or something like that... Now where did I leave my tinfoil hat?

as a Tigers fan, when i think of the cards i think of the '68 series. when i think of the sox...well i don't much they are sort of like the Yankees from the 70's -- yet another whiny east coast team on an extended bad luck streak.
now i live in the St Louis metro area and while i continue to support my team, my team isn't playing. So I agree with you, "Go Cards!"
